Daraz Introduces COD Plus – A Step Toward Digital Payments

Pakistan’s top e-commerce site Daraz is announcing a new feature called COD Plus, which will let customers change their payment option to digital at the time of delivery. With COD Plus, customers selecting Cash on Delivery will now be able to convert their payment method to a digital payment during the delivery of their order. Delivery will issue a secure payment link to customers which will redirect them to Daraz’s payment portal, where they can pay with a credit/debit card or through a digital wallet. The launch of COD Plus highlights the efforts to address the challenge of integrating Pakistan’s cash-burdened population with the growing digital landscape. Despite the advancements Pakistan has made in the past few years regarding financial inclusion, a large portion of e-commerce transactions in Pakistan continue to be cash-based.
